On July 28, 2017 The Opinion Page from The Washington Post posted an article published by Akhil Sharma called " I resisted the label 'immigrant writer.' Trump makes me more willing to accept it. " In this article the author explains how it has been hard for him as an Indian writer. He gives examples of things that people have said to him on the streets or even when he's on his morning run. He argues that things like these did happen before but he states that "This sort of hatred surely existed before Donald Trump became president, but it seems his example has made it more acceptable to say such things." This makes one feel pushed towards an immigrant identity. It sure does not help when you are part of minority group and for Trump to make it okay to do or say things like this is not right.
